Whenever India is portrayed in a Hollywood movie usually the scene starts with poor people sitting around the Taj Mahal or if urban India is to be portrayed, they would show a traffic scene with blaring horns.
Ever wondered why?
Impatience! That is right; blaring horns imply impatience, and no one would disagree that it is a fundamental characteristic of our people. The ferocity with which people blow their car horns is astounding. One is a polite punch to make the other driver aware but in Delhi even the horns distinctly represent the aggression of my people. Impatience can be good thing if it can be channelized in the right direction. I think it has become very essential that the youth (i.e us) of this country become impatient for progress and improvement of rural India. We can stop criticizing the politicians for a change. This anger and impatience has to stop for once and actions need to be taken.
The attitude of the people determines the very fabric of a society, and certain characteristics are inculcated by people over a series of events throughout their history.I do not understand the irksome impatience of my people, but I am certain that it needs to be channelized for improving our country. Slacktivism is very common and if truth be said that is exactly what I am doing right now. It is very easy to pass judgments from the comfort of one’s armchair and to blame other people for the chaos they create. But the essential question which everyone ,including me, should ask himself or herself is WHAT HAVE WE CONTRIBUTED? Have we brought about any change?
Till we actually contribute, we have no right to complain and this impatience has to be channelized for our progress. Till then we will all be slacktivists!!!!!!!!!
